1. Stay hydrated: drink two or three liters of water a day and avoid sugary drinks. I’ve never been a huge fan of soda so this part of the plan went pretty smoothly. While plain water is best for staying hydrated, other drinks and foods can help, too. Fruit and vegetable juices, milk, and herbal teas add to the amount of water you get each day. Keep a bottle of water with you during the day. To reduce your costs, carry a reusable water bottle and fill it with tap water.
2. Respect sleeping time, get enough rest: The recommended amount of sleeping hours is 8 hours a day; however, each person is different and the amount of sleeping hours needed may vary from one person to the other. Do not forget to maintain balance among work, leisure and rest. I really need eight hours of sleep and I’ve been keeping this schedule for a few months now. I feel energetic in the morning and can get through my day without any problems. But, be careful you don’t sleep too much. 9 or 10 sleeping hours are way too much and not at all necessary.
3: Prepare your day: When you take a few minutes to plan the activities you need to do during the day, you can determine how much time you have available to devote to yourself. With the right schedule you will realise you can spend more time on a healthy lifestyle than you think. Try to optimise your daily tasks from the very first moment you get up and pay close attention to them every morning.
4. Pick exercises that you enjoy: When you enjoy a sport, you naturally want to do it more often. Exercise isn’t about suffering and pushing yourself; it’s about being healthy and having fun at the same time. Adding variation in your exercises will keep them interesting. What exercises do you like and how can you include them in your routine?
5. Have healthy snacks: If you’re hungry at work, eat healthy snacks like fruits, vegetable juices, and yogurts. These are nutritional and don’t give you that sugar rush. Have them readily available so that you can get a munch and stop when you have your fill. Try to stay away from cookies and candy bars.
These timeless tips are applicable for any moment. Also, remember that the more time you spend time with healthy people, the better. It will make healthy living more fun! 🙂
Lots of love,
